Bacillus clausii is a probiotic used in the treatment or prevention of gut disorders related to alteration in the normal bacteria and other organisms living inside the gut.
This medicine may be used to treat other conditions as decided by your doctor.
Take
Bacillus clausii exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Try to take it at the same time each day.
This medicine is available as an oral suspension or capsule.
If you are taking the oral suspension:
- Shake the vial (mini bottle) well before you take it.
- Twist the cap and break off to open the bottle.
- Squeeze the bottle to directly drink the whole content or mix it with sweetened water, milk, tea, or orange juice before drinking.
Once the vial is opened, consume the contents immediately within a short period of time. The vial should only be given via the mouth, do not administer it in any other way.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not take Bacillus clausii if you ever had an allergic reaction (e.g. rashes, breathlessness, swollen eyes) to this medicine or any of its ingredients.
Inform your doctor if you have a condition causing a weak immune system.
Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving Bacillus clausii to an infant or a child.
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are taking Bacillus clausii while being treated with antibiotics, take it between doses of the antibiotic.
If you develop rashes, breathlessness, swollen mouth or eyes, stop taking Bacillus clausii and inform your doctor immediately. These could be signs of an allergic reaction.
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking antibiotics.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid alcohol.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
